| Brothers- Your 2014 Officer installation went off without a hitch at Janesville Western Star 55. The installation team consisted of District Deputy Paul Tourville as Installing Master, Area Administrator Noah Schultz as Installing Marshall, and Past Grand Master Jack Allord as Installing Chaplain. The day started off with a fantastic potluck brunch put together by the members and families, followed by the installation ceremony. It was a great turnout with a majority of the seats in the Lodge filled with Brothers, family and friends. Announcements from the new Master consisted of the fast coming Black Tie Event for 55 in Rockford Il Burns Club Banquet January 25th, 2014. Tickets and RSVP must be in to the Lodge by January 8th to ensure time to order ticket and plan seating. Brother John Meek can provide additional details on the event. Cost is $50 per person for the supper and hotel options are available. More info to come as the date gets closer.  Janesville Western Star #55 Junior Warden Rob Hanson (left) presents a check to Dean of Students of TAGOS-Jon Woloshin. TAGOS is a Janesville Charter School that is a Project Based Learning School and has proven to be a very successful concept. The donation was one of the Lodge’s Community involvement projects this year. The students do not have transportation available from the school system and they must find their own way to attend school.  Janesville Western Star #55 raised $338.00 for the endeavor, using the donation can to raise funds throughout the year.
The funds will be used to provide transportation to and from their facility for students. Pictured are a few of the students as well as Rob and Jon. Information regarding the TAGOS Charter School can be found at www.tagoleadershipacademy.org. |
