That being said some are young men who have erred; now realize it and wish to make amends and grow with men of honor and being well respected. My response is “show me” and when convinced that poor behavior or habits have indeed been replaced with goodness and moral conduct that is visible to society, a second look may take place but not guaranteed. For when one is blessed enough to wear the ring of a Master Mason his behavior now represents me and all the other Masons in the World. A huge responsibility for sure, but one we all uphold. If one falls far enough, Masonic Code allows a Masonic Trial that can lead to a disastrous result of removal from the Fraternity. Make no mistake, dismissal from the Fraternity of Freemasons if found out by the public is a serious and damaging disgrace to the offender.
On a lighter note I have had the honor of membership into many Masonic organizations and each one brings more and more ingredients to a fabulous recipe. The following is from a lecture that I found quite thoughtful. “….There is however a wonderful paradox since dependence is one of the greatest strengths of Humanity. By His Wisdom, mankind was made social and dependent upon each other for protection and security. By this apparent weakness we have been truly blessed, by the potential enjoyment and fulfillment of reciprocal love and friendship. Hence, it is our profession as Masons to teach and communicate happiness.”
That is what you find within a Lodge of Master Masons and between Brothers: HAPPINESS. Life has difficult times, but what can help get us through those times are the bonds of friendships, Brotherly love, support and for the most of life, Happiness. Welcome to Freemasonry a way of life for life.
